She was a rising star who's tragic death ruined it. As is the norm for a gifted, charming and young artist dies prematurely, many reminisced about the potential that she had to fulfill. In the following years, people were motivated to work even harder in order to ensure that her accomplishments would not go unnoticed. Her tragic death in a shooting triggered a response in the Latino Community, similar to reactions following the deaths of Elvis Presley or John Lennon. Selena's music, one of the most popular singers who was success in Latino communities throughout North America touched people young and old. Selena, a gorgeous and glamorous stage performer who is often called Latina Madonna was a model offstage. Selena was also active in anti-drug initiatives.
